BOYZONE CONCERT REVIEW FROM MANCHESTER!
[25th October]
I woke on Saturday morning, excited about the concert
I was going to! It started at 7.30pm and I arrived at the Arena at 6.50pm.
Outside the Arena there were people everywhere I turned, it was amazing.
Also there was the big 'Smash Hits' tour bus outside with Tristan Bancks
(X-Home & Away star) talking to loads of fans. I decided to just take
a glimps of him then join the small Q to get into the Arena. I was in the
Arena at 7pm and I then couldn't move for people or should I say, Boyzone
Fans, everywhere I looked.
Whilest I found the door to my block in where I was sitting I looked at
all the merchandise stands. There were new tour mugs, t-shirts, coats,
scarfs, programs, braclets, necklaces and many more.
I found my seat and in such short time, the arena was full! The noise was
so loud, although I thought, until an advert for Boyzone came on the screens
either side of the stage and one at the top of the arena and not one person
didn't scream!
The lights went off, the screams and shouts became louder and the atmosphere
was just so loud and mad, everyone was happy, it was so, so hot and all
I could say was it was a FANTASTIC feeling, and those lovely, five, irish,
guys hadn't even come on yet!
The first support act to start off the concert and get everyone in the
mood for a dance and a totaly fab night was, 'Another Level'! This band
was just great, it consisted of four young lads named, Bobak, Mark, Wayne
and Dane and I loved there songs too. If you want to know more about them,
they have a website at =
www.AnotherLevel.co.uk
They'll also be on the 'Smash Hits' tour.
Next, was 'Ultra'! This band was great. Just like the first band, and again,
consisted of four lovely talanted lads, Michael, Nick, James and Jon. James
was the singer (and what a great voice he had!), Jon was on the drums,
Nick was on the Bass and Michael was on the guitar. They all came from
Buckinghamshire and they really got the crowd going.
It was now 8.05pm and there was a short break but at 8.15pm the concert
continued on with the third support act...... '6pac'!
These six girls were so mad! they had an amazing dress sense and I swear,
they could be the next 'Spice Girls'. This band came from the man that
brought you 'Thak That' and they were, Leanne, Joanna, Mimi, Jane, Ellouise
and Michelle! They then led us to the last band before those gorge Boyz'
came on stage! Next was...... 'The Carter Twins', which most of you will
know as 'Brother 2 Brother'. These two Irish lads named Steve and Tony
Carter were found by Steve Gately and they've toured with Boyzone before.
They sang some lovely songs including 'Cherish'. They then said good night
and told us to enjoy the rest of the show, which I knew we all would!!!!!
Everyone was just so worked up now when..... the lights came on and there
was another break! This lasted from 8.50pm till 9pm and I don't think that
many people deared leave there seat as we all knew who'd be next to take
control of the stage.
Before the lights went off, once again a mexican wave began leading around
the arena several times. The music began with the drums and smoke poring
out from the back of the stage, when on stage apeared a roller scater (at
first I thought it was Shane!) then another and another came on. There
must have been five of them doing some great moves, when they began to
pull down the curtains on stage to reveal the BOYZ' ( Aaaaaaaaaarrrrghhhhhhhhhhh)
It wasn't until about a minute later when I could actually see them because
of all the smoke all over the stage!
There first song just hit the roof, with everyone singing and dancing feeling
so happy! A list of some of there songs are as follows:
Each song was just so brilliant! And the layout of the
stage and the whole performance was great! Some things in the concert which
really did stand out were, the fact that Shane now has the worlds greatest
No.1 hairstyle as it's ...... well, what can I say - IT'S BLUE! He's had
it all shaved except the top which is braded and blue with a few black
strands :) It's so trendy!
Also Ronan has had his hair cut, but just a bit so it's below his ears.
Keith's hair couldn't possibly get any longer, and Steve and Mike are just
the same! Though all of them looked absolutely sensational! The concert,
unfortunatly, ended at 10.40pm. I'd had a great time and I'd been entertained
all night! I'm very sure Boyzone had a wicked time just like all those
fans there who came to see them specially to perform that night. The smiles
on there faces as they left the stage will stay in my mind......... till
the next time!
