Background

St Michael & All Angels Church of Enland is a flinted building nearly 100 years old on the north-eastern edge of Berkhamsted. It is sited on a south facing slope of the valley giving the area the name of Sunnyside and the local name of "Sunnysiders" for members of the congregation. The church is of a lively, evangelical persuasion with a congregation of about 200, including many young people. A varied diet of worship is provided during the month including informal praise services, healing services, youth worship and formal communion.

Sunnyside is in the St Albans Diocese, which now has its own presence on the web. The site will give you all the information you need to know about the Church of England in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. Links to other churches in the diocese are also available from here.

Sunnyside has run three Alpha courses over the past year with over 120 attending. These courses give basic Christian teaching in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. The course originated at Holy Trinity Church, Brompton in London and has now spread throughout the UK and overseas.
