Meet Melissa Joan Hart Starring as Sabrina the Teenaged Witch on ABC-TV:

Melissa Joan Hart shot her first national television commercial at age four, and she hasn’t stopped working since. Widely known as Clarissa in Nickelodeon’s top-rated, long-running series “Clarissa Explains It All,” Hart’s credits also include feature and television movies, guest starring roles and several theater stints, both on and off Broadway.

She recently starred in the Emmy award-winning NBC movie “Christmas Snow;” the network film “Family Reunion;” regularly appeared on CBS’ “The Lucie Arnaz Show;” and guest-starred in the 1995/1996 season opener for the series “Touched By An Angel.” Previous credits also include guest-hosting duties on “America’s Funniest People” and regular appearances on “Saturday Night Live” and the daytime soap, “Another World.”

Hart made her Broadway debut opposite Martin Sheen in “The Crucible.” She also starred with William Hurt in the Circle Repertory production of “Beside Herself” and in the same Company’s production of “Imagining Brad” with Peter Hedges (Gilbert Grape)

Melissa was subsequently inverted to become the youngest member of the Circle Repertory Lab Company. Winner of three “youth in film” awards for her work, Hart was nominated for a CableACE award for “Best Actress in a Comedy Series” for “Clarissa Explains It All.” The series was also nominated for a prime time Emmy Award in 1994.

Hart works actively for a variety of charities including her role as spokesperson for the Starlight Foundation, Audrey Hepburn’s Hollywood for Children Fund, Pediatric Aids/Kids for Kids and she is the co-chair for the Children’s Museum of Manhattan.

In the fall or 1995, Hart embarked on a five-city tour as the Hepatitis B Awareness Campaign spokesperson, appearing at high schools and colleges across the country. As vice-president of Hartbreak Films, working with her mother Paula who is president of the production company, Hart is working on several upcoming projects including a trip to Australia to shoot an episode of the Nickelodeon series “Doomrunners” and a trip to the European Riviera to work on a co-production for England’s BBC. She is also co-writing the script for a movie she hopes to produce and co-direct an aspect of the business Hart hopes to explore further. She was seen in the NBC tele-movie “Twisted Desire” with co-star Daniel Baldwin.

Hart combines her busy production and charity schedule with studying and is currently a sophomore at NYU. She lives at home in New Jersey with her mother, stepfather and five brothers and sisters who are also actors.

On the pages between 11 and 12 they have the Editors Notebook. In it they say:
