STTW Article
This Article about Sabrina appeared on pages 62-63 of the "Fall Preview" issue of TV Guide for week begining 16th September 1996. There was also a small cartoon of Sabrina and Salem.
SABRINA, THE TEENAGE WITCH 8:30-9P.M. ABC
STARS: Melissa Joan Hart (right), Caroline Rhea, Beth Broderick, Nate Richert, Michelle Beaudoin, Jenna Leigh Green, Paul Feig, Nick Bakay
THE CONCEPT: A teen "Bewitched"
THE PREMISE: As if she doesn't have enough to worry about, new-kid- in-town Sabrina Spellman (Hart) finds out on her 16th birthday that she's a witch. But eyes of newt and bubbling cauldrons can't always get her what she wants: a cool boyfriend and the respect of her high-school peers.
THEY SAY: "It's not a show about special effects. It's a show about a teenage girl coming of age," says Paula Hart, executive producer (and Melissa's mom). "Every teenager thinks that they're a freak. Sabrina really IS a freak."
WE SAY: No pilot was available for review., but when you factor Hart, who brings a loyal, young fan base from her years on Nickelodeon's "Clarissa Explains It All", into ABC's revamped TGIF lineup, well, it shouldn't take a magic spell for "Sabrina" to succeed.

In addition there were these references to Melissa/Sabrina in the issue:
p. 10: ``Back to the Drawing Board'': ``... Disney-owned ABC serves up family fare such as Sabrina, the Teenage Witch;....''
p. 11: ``Welcome Back'': ``...Clarissa Explains It All 's *Melissa Joan Hart* makes the switch to Sabrina, the Teenage Witch....''
p. 114: ``Vote with the Remote'': ``If the straight news coverage of the presidential election makes you reach for the clicker---fear not. This year there's enough alternative coverage to sustain channel surfers with even the shortest of attention spans.
``For kids, Nickelodeon offers Kids Pick the President (October 22), hosted by Melissa Joan Hart (Clarissa Explains It All) and David Sidoni (Round House), a show in which the nation's ineligible voters will have the chance to cast their vote (via an 800-number and the Internet).''
