Q: Are You in Love?
Ans: "No, I'm trying not to look for it because when you look for it
you don't find it. I'm travelling a lot at the moment and if I was
in a relationship it would be a problem. Also, a lot of my friends are
guys and a lot of boys can't deal with that."
Q: Who was your first love?
Ans: "His name was Mike, he was a year older than me and it was love at
first sight. I was like, 'I want this kid, he will be my boyfriend'.
I had a boyfriend but that night he was an hour-and-a-half late and I was
little pissed off. So me and Mike hung out a lot and went to concerts and
stuff. Then I broke up with my boyfriend and four days later me and Mike
kissed. Our first kiss was in a car at a red light so it had to be quick,
he was driving and I just leaned over and kissed him."
Q: How did it end?
Ans: "It ended about nine months ago - really messily. He lied to me and
cheated on me. Things fell apart because he wanted to see other people but
didn't want to lose me. Then he cheated on me. I knew something was going on
but didn't know he was cheating on me. Suddenly, he wouldn't let me hang out
with his friends anymore and was being more secretive. I thought he just
wanted more space."
Q: Will you get back with Mike?
Ans: "I've spoken to him since and we got along great. We were going to be
friends again but he went back to school and didn't call me. So now I'm never
talking to him again. I miss not having a close boyfriend because we talked
about everything. Like I'll want to cut my hair and I'll think, 'Oh I'll call
Mike and ask him,' and it's like, 'Oh he's not my boyfriend anymore'."
Q: What's the most embarrassing thing you've done for love?
Ans: "I'm embarrassed to say I flew Mike out to see me when I was filming in
Florida. It was stupid but I guess it was romantic at the time. Another time
he was sick and vomiting all over the place and I had to go and rub his back
while he was puking. That was pretty embarrassing."
Q: Have you ever written a love letter?
Ans: "Yes, I used to write to Mike all the time. I'd cut out magazines and
paste them together and send them. I used to write,'Dear Mike I love you',
and draw pictures of Aladdin, which is his favourite movie. The sweetest
thing he did was make me a vase in art class. I didn't appreciate it at the
time but I looked at it recently and thought, 'God, that's really beautiful'."
Q: What turns you off a boy?
Ans: "When they're conceited or when they don't show you any attention.
They'll say they like you when you're alone but when you're around a few
people they'll act like you're not even there."
Q: Would you ever be unfaithful?
Ans: "No way, not after what Mike did. If I'm serious about a boyfriend
then I'm fully committed."
Q: What's your most romantic experience?
Ans: "Once, when Mike flew down to Florida I made him dinner. I cooked
spaghetti but it wasn't very good cos it was my first try. We got a bottle
of wine, I lit some candles and we rented a movie. It was lovely."
Q: Do you remember your first kiss?
Ans: "Yeah, it was right before I was going to shoot Clarissa. There was
this kid I'd liked for two years and I wanted him to be my first kiss. I'd
waited two years! My friend asked him if he could kiss me cos he didn't
have a clue I liked him. We were sitting on his skateboard and he just
leaned over and kissed me. I thought it was the most awkward thing in the
world."
Q: Are you a good kisser?
Ans: "I hope so, I haven't had any complaints and my ex-boyfriend said I was.
I don't kiss on first dates though; I like to let things develop."
Q: Do a lot of boys ask you out?
Ans:"Yeah, recently. It's flattering but you don't know whether they're asking
because you're nice or because you're on TV. When I was last over in the UK
I had three marriage proposals in one day. I joked around and said, 'Yeah
sure'. One time I was doing an interview on TV and the presenter proposed on
air - I didn't see any ring though."
Q: Who's your ideal man?
Ans: "He'd have to be 6' 2" with dark hair. I like really thin guys. I guess
he'd look like Matthew Fox from Party Of Five - he's gorgeous."
Q: Do you think girls should ask boys out?
Ans: "Oh yeah. If you really like someone you should go for it. A lot of the
time you hang around waiting for the guy to come and talk to you. But I bet
the guy's thinking exactly the same thing. Girls asking boys out is no big
deal."
