Melissa Darling!
Melissa Joan Hart is the 18-year old star of Live and Kicking's new series, Clarissa Explains it All. The New York-based actress plays wacky, independant teenager, Clarissa Darling. Here she talks about herself and her TV character.

Q1 Do you have any brothers or sisters ?

"I'm the eldest of six children, and have four sisters and one brother. But I don't argue with them nearly as much as Clarissa does with her little brother"
Q2 Have you always wanted to act ?
"Yes. When I was 4, I was in a TV ad. I've appeared on TV, in films and on stage since and left school at 15 to concentrate on acting."
Q3 What's Clarissa Like ?
"She's a real know-all, despite the fact that things are always going wrong! For instance she volunteers to be the understudy in the school play because she reckons that's the easy option. Then she ends up on stage when the actress falls ill, and she doesn't know her lines."
Q4 Would you like Clarissa as a friend ?
"Yes, because she's cool and a bit crazy - her clothes all clash, her best friend climbs through her window and she has a pet alligator - yet she's determined to be accepted for what she is. I'm not quite so off the wall, though I do have a duck."
Q5 What do you do when you're not working?
"I love snowboarding and going to the movies. Shirley Temple is my favorite actress and I've built up a collection of memorabilia, with everything from videos to porcelain dolls."
Q6 What's your ambition ?
"I've thought of becoming a doctor, but I'll probably carry on acting. Starring in a movie with Brad Pitt would be great !"
