Like a proper christmas angel,
Steve Gately joined the big starry likes of Jimmy Sommerville, Gabrielle,
Michelle Gayle, McAlmont & Butler, Alicia's Attic, Marcella Detroit,
Kavana and Paul Heaton of the Beautiful South in singing some festive tunes
for Radio One's celebration Christmas According to the Gospel of...
R1 ( radio 1 ) DJ Lisa l'Anson was in charge of hosting the event - held
on a picturesque North London chapel - and accompanied in top musical fashion
by the London Community Gospel Choir. In true Gatley tradition Steve serenaded
a very lucky audience with the famous Disney track from Pocahontas, Colours
of the Wild. Despite the fact that it's a bit of a tricky tune to get one's
vocal chords round Mr Gatley pulled it off a treat with no probs - before
rushing off to perform to yet more excited masses live on stage at Wembley
Arena !
