CAMBRIDGESHIRE FAMILY HISTORY SOCIETYFOREIGN CURRENCY RATES |
Registered Charity No. 278815
ABOUT FOREIGN CURRENCY
From November 1998 the Cambridgeshire Family History Society has been able to accept foreign currency cheques for limited countries. The Society has decided to treat subscriptions on a fixed rate basis and other services on a quarterly exchange rate fixed by the society.
For subscription rates follow the link to the Membership page.
For the bookstall or research services simply take the total sterling amount of your order. If the order is greater than £100 then two separate cheques will be required; in this case divide your total into values less than £100 that add up to the total amount. Note: All postage has been charged at surface rate except in the case of microfiche which is charged at airmail rate. These postal values are included with the cost of the items.
To calculate the value of your cheque simply multiply it by the rate below and round up to the nearest cent. The rates are listed below.
| United States | $1.75=£1 | |
| Canada | $2.60=£1 | |
| Australia | $2.75=£1 | |
| New Zealand | $3.30=£1 | |
Example 1
The bookstall order totals £54.25. To convert to U.S. Dollars multiply this value by 1.75.
The multiplication of 54.25 by 1.75 gives a value of 94.375 which is rounded up to 94.94.
The value in US Dollars is $94.94
Example 2
The total value of research services is £115.00 and is to be paid in Canadian Dollars. This is above the £100 limit. The value is split into two sterling values of £50.00 and £65.00.
The first cheque will be 50.00 x 2.60 = 130.00. The second cheque will be 65.00 x 2.60 = 169.00.
All cheques should be made payable to "Cambridgeshire Family History Society".
