alders with Barf behind

Donald gave us an interesting walk round the hill

these are ashes with an oak bursting into leaf in the field behind

this wood has some amazingly tall sycamores - not easy to photograph

comparing different cones

these tall conifers are Douglas Fir I think

heading down through the trees with Skiddaw beyond

Dodd seen over Bass Lake from the edge of the wood

under a horse chestnut

one of dozens of Silver Firs ..

.. and looking up at the parent of them all

a glimpse of the head of Bass Lake from the wood ..
