Instructions on Using
Landauers Dosimetry Service
Your Shipment
Your badges will arrive in a shipping container
with a packing list/service change order form and at least one
control dosimeter. Personal identification, including account
number, participant number and beginning wear date is printed on
film badges and laser etched on TLD rings and body badges.
Returning Used Dosimeters
- About 5-8 days before the beginning of a
new wear date you will receive a new shipment of
dosimeters. Please store these in a radiation-free area
until the first day of the new wear period. On the first
day of the new wear period change the dosimeters over.
For film badges put the new inserts into the holders and
remove the used inserts to return to Landauer using the
return box or the return label. PLEASE RETAIN YOUR FILM
BADGE HOLDERS; DO NOT RETURN WITH THE USED DOSIMETERS. It
is important that the inserts are loaded correctly into
their holders (see sheet on loading film badges).
Unused Dosimeters
- If you wish a dosimeter to be reported as
unused, please list the dosimeters that have not been
worn or otherwise used (state badge type, part number and
name), and include the list with the return shipment. It
is important that you have an authorised person verify
that the dosimeters are unused and sign the list
accordingly.
Contaminated Dosimeters
- If you suspect that a dosimeter has been
radioactively contaminated DO NOT RETURN it to Landauer.
Instead, an estimated dose should be sent to us by your
Radiation Protection Adviser.
