This interactive workshop and performance is bought to you by ‘The Storytellers’ and was developed for local authorities and the BBC as an educational learning tool to aid storytelling. Each hour long session can be adapted to benefit the individual groups of children by choosing different constituent parts of the workshop.
With our large selection of rod, glove and finger puppets we will teach the basic skills of puppetry and how to use these within a storytelling environment, working towards the children becoming active participants in the later performance.
With our extensive range of percussion instruments we will work at developing the children’s rhythm and teach how different percussion, sounds and instruments can be played to represent a variety of atmospheres and emotions.
Every group has the opportunity to learn songs from the show so they can participate in the performance
Following the workshop there will be a 20 minute musical production of Goldilocks and the Three Bears performed in and around your children, with them taking the parts of the bears and the chorus. Your children have the opportunity to perform to each other and they will also learn skills of performing and storytelling by working with the professional actors.
The aims of this workshop and performance are to be fully inclusive to all children and approach their learning through visual, auditory and kinesthetic means. The workshop has been developed with educational advisors so that children gain the maximum learning potential from each session.
We are available to run either morning or afternoon sessions. It is possible to have a maximum number of two workshops/performances in any half day session.
Staff will be able to link to other areas of work from this project such as: The World Around Us, Strangers, PHSE, Numeracy, Literacy and Musical Skills
