Many illustrious teachers have taught at Rokpa's homebase, the Kagyu Samye Ling Tibetan Buddhist centre in Scotland. You can consult a list of teachers who came 1967-1988.

The following are our own bios. or links to other sites for some teachers you may find interesting. It will grow in time to include more of the people involved in the growth and development of Rokpa.

... His Holiness the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa, ( - 1981) head of the Karma Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism: one of the main figures involved in establishing Tibetan Buddhism throughout the world.

... His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, Urgyen Trinley Dorje: reincarnation of the above, presently at Tsurphu monastery in Tibet.

... The 12th Tai Situpa, present Holder of the Karma Kagyu. A Buddhist master of tremendous talent and artistic skill.

... The 9th Goshir Gyaltsab Rinpoche, the other present holder of the Karma Kagyu lineage. An extremely erudite master who cares for the Indian Rumtek seat of the Karmapas.

... Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche, the Senior tutor of the Karma Kagyu tradition and person guiding the overall development of the long-term meditation retreats at Kagyu Samye Ling.

... Ringu Tulku, the erudite and gentle reincarnation of the Abbot of Rilgu monastery.
