Announcement of Teams (1) There will be a 9 a.m. meeting on the first day of each Test Match. Teams will be submitted in writing to the Test Match Manager at or before this meeting. Each submission must list the six singles players in order of merit and three doubles pairs designated 1, 2 and 3 (not necessarily in order of merit). There will be a short management briefing on the day before the first Test Match (14th June 1996) at Nottingham at 4 p.m. One or more representatives from each team are asked to attend. 15. Abbreviated Test Match If a tie, as specified in Regulation 8 part (3) or (4), necessitates an Abbreviated Test Match this will be played at Cheltenham on 5th July 1996. A. Times of Play and Meal-times The matches will start at 9.30 a.m. (except that the start may be delayed by a ceremony on the first day of each Test Match). Play will continue if necessary until 8 p.m. There will be no bells to signify meal breaks. A 1 hour lunch break may be taken starting as follows:- No sooner than 11.30 a.m.- No later than the end of the turn in progress at 2 p.m.- If a game finishes after 12 noon, then either player (or pair) may specify that the lunch break be taken then.- Before the start of a turn after 12.30 p.m. the player (or pair) about to play may specify that the lunch break be taken then.- Otherwise by mutual consent. A 15 minute break for tea may be taken starting as follows:- If a game finishes after 4 p.m., then either player (or pair) may specify that a tea break be taken then.- Before the start of a turn after 4.30 p.m. a player (or pair) about to play may specify that a tea break be taken then.- No later than the end of the turn in progress at 5 p.m. B. Practice during a Test Match There will be a 5 minute practice period starting at 9.25 a.m. each day. During this period players may practice on their lawn using only the 4 balls allocated for the lawn. They may not run or attempt to run any hoops and may not shoot at the hoops or peg. Other practice (after play for instance) will be at the discretion of the Test Match Manager. C. Unfinished Matches In view of the unfinished matches in the last few test series it is the intention of the Tournament Manager to try to finish all of the matches in 1996. To this end the following steps will be taken:- Play will continue until 8 p.m. if necessary.- Unfinished matches will be continued at any opportunity on subsequent days.- Players with an unfinished match (or matches) must be prepared to resume the match later in the 6 day period. In particular players should be prepared to play on their spare singles day (e.g. players 5 and 6 on singles day 3)- Matches may be resumed on different lawns (even if pegged down)- Unfinished matches from the first two tests may be played during the third test (at Cheltenham). Nevertheless, unfinished matches will not take precedence over scheduled matches. No play will occur on the rest/travel/practice days (Fridays 21st and 28th June 1996)

21st October 1995 at the AGM of the Croquet Association. The

THE NEW ZEALAND TEAM 
The
New Zealand team for the 1996 MacRobertson Shield was announced
