CHILD ABDUCTION

  • U.K. help is available here

  • USA help is available here

This is amongst the worst things that can happen to a parent or child. Even if the child is returned safe and well, nothing will ever be the same again.

Various agencies in the UK and particularly the USA offer help and advice to either prevent an abduction in the first place, or when the worst actually happens.

There are basically two types of abduction of children:

Abduction by a parent or other carer, and

    Abduction by a stranger.

The net contacts deal with both types.

    The Hague Convention

The convention asks that signatory countries uphold court orders relating to children in another signatory country.
Due to the limited size of this home page and also because I do not need to duplicate information already avalable on the net I will give you a list of sites on the subject so you can explore yourself.
