1 The following is a list of shops and mail order companies that I have bought from or visited and decided were worth mentioning here. There are also a few that have been sent to me and these have a yellow rather than a pink banner background. The basic criteria required to be listed here is to have a reasonable stock of Technic LEGO and/or have the odd discontinued set. If you know of a shop that is not listed here, then follow this link or email me. Note: I have had very little help in compiling this list and it is now very much out of date and. Although it is likely to remain that way, it may be of some use so I will leave it here. Can't win em all :( Tip: If you are building up a collection, leave the current models till later and concentrate on the discontinued ones from recent years.

7 The Entertainer Camberley Town Centre I only mention this one because I have been told they are known to have sales on a regular basis but I thought they had a pretty limited range of Technic LEGO. Last visited/updated: 16th May 1998 Discontinued sets in stock: 8440 x2

8 Co-op Coventry City Centre An overlooked source of LEGO with reasonable prices. Last visited/updated: 17th May 1998

9 Toys 'R' Us Derby Retail Park off A52, 4 miles West of M1 J21 Web Standard store with a few discontinued sets. Last visited/updated: 22nd July 1998 Sets bought: 8818 Discontinued sets in stock: 8816 8456 x2

10 Fleet Toys Fleet Fleet Road I am told that they have a similar stock to the shop in Basingstoke. Last visited/updated: 17th May 1998

11 Child's Toy Shop High Wycombe 190 Desborough Road. A small toy shop just outside the town centre. They didn't have much Technic LEGO but they did have the Model Team Black Cat truck for £89. Last visited/updated: 23rd May 1998

12 Allders Leeds 22-26 The Headrow. Tel: 01132 343906 They have a big toy department on the top floor that has a large selection of LEGO. Their prices are very good, especially rail track at £9.99 for straights/curves and £19.99 for points. They even sell the LEGO 'brick breaking' tool. 13 Toys 'R' Us Leeds In a big retail park near M62 J27 (between Halifax and Leeds) Web A newish store and so no discontinued stock (yet). Last visited/updated: 20th July 1998 Sets bought: 8414

14 Hamleys London Regent Street. I had to mention it since it is probably the best known toy shop in England. It has quite a large selection of the current LEGO range but has prices to match, some of which far exceed the recommended retail price, eg Barcode Truck ( 8479 ) for £130. 15 Harrods London Knightsbridge. Harrods only gets a mention due to the fact that its prices are higher than Hamleys. Quite a limited range for such a big toy department. Last visited/updated: 3rd June 1998

16 John Lewis London Oxford Street. This is the cheapest store I could find in London. They didn't have too many sets but at least they were a decent price, eg Barcode Truck ( 8479 ) for £83. Last visited/updated: 3rd June 1998

17 Lewis Manchester City Centre Another store with a big toy department on the top floor. Again masses of LEGO but no discontinued sets. They had several LEGO sets on sale but no Technic this time. Last visited/updated: 20th July 1998

18 Toys 'R' Us Manchester Great Ancoats Street (near City Centre). Tel: 0161 2726515 Web This store is about half a mile from the Arndale Centre in a retail park. 19 Duck's Toy Shop Marlborough 114 High Street. Tel: 01672 512170 This is a great little toy shop in a small market town. It doesn't have a massive range but I mention it here because this is where I got my Control Centre ( 8485 ) from. Last visited/updated: 11th April 1998 Sets bought: 8485

25 Toys 'R' Us Sheffield Meadowhall Retail Park. Tel: (Sheffield) 2618694 Web A replica of the Reading store with the usual good selection including five Space Shuttles ( 8480 ) at £49 each. 26 The Entertainer Southampton The Marlands Shopping Centre, Civic Centre Road. Tel: 01703 221 744 A massive toy shop with the usual (limited) range I have come to expect from The Entertainer. Last visited/updated: 6th June 1998

28 Busy Bee Manchester Tel: 0161 881 3906, Fax: 0161 860 5627 They are one of the few places that still have a good stock of some of the discontinued sets covering the whole LEGO range. The prices are quite good too. Last visited/updated: 15th June 1998
